ARTIST STATEMENT

 

I am an artist who works in a variety of media. My work began in the realm of fine arts and has evolved into the digital arts. My work is a continual study of the relationship between the individual and the whole and how they interact with one another. I make work that detaches itself from the complexities of form and function. I experiment with the foundation of color theory and its simple and complex nature. I have a reoccurring subject matter, which is the relation with popular culture and media. I work with repetition, functionality and the application of color, each color being an individual represented in the whole. My work studies portraiture and self-reflection thought history and pop-culture. I capture expressions and invent narratives within my pieces. I take things apart and investigate their functions. I am also a digital designer; I work with interface accessibility and create logos to spite ephemerality. I want my work to live forever though technology, assessable to all.
